Your playing cards are spread over seven stacks. Cards face down increase in number by one, starting on the left. At the start of the game, you will see one card face up in each pile. The remaining cards of each stack are turned over so that you can only see the back of the cards. At the top right are four card trays for the finished decks. A very popular feature of Win XP-look solitaire is the ability to change the back of your cards. You can also do this in the browser version. Change your card back as often as you like from the templates under the menu item „Deck“. You can also keep the standard online Solitaire card deck with the familiar blue pattern.

Since this online solitaire version is the basis for numerous variations, you are probably basically familiar with the rules. If you play this online solitaire version, the following rules apply:

  • You must alternate red and black cards.
  • The cards are placed in descending order. The order starts with the king, followed by queen and jack, continues with the numbers ten to two and ends with an ace.
  • When you find an ace, click on it to move it to the top right of the sorting pile. The ace is the first card of each suit that you use to make a discard pile.
  • In Online Solitaire you win points for successful sorting.
  • Your total score is calculated on the basis of your time required and the efficient sorting of the cards.
  • When you have sorted out a pile, you create a new pile of cards at this point. This pile begins with a king.
  • In online Win XP Solitaire you sort a complete deck of cards in each of the four card suits Diamonds, Spades, Hearts and Clubs.
  • If you can’t sort any more cards, draw one card from the card pile in the upper left corner. If all cards are uncovered from the pile, but not sorted, a small, light green circle will appear. If you click on it, your unsorted cards will be shuffled and revealed. How many cards are revealed depends on which game mode you have chosen.
  • In the game mode „Deal (draw 1)“, you can click on the deck to turn one card over. If you choose the „Deal (draw 3)“ mode, you will always receive the top three cards, which are placed next to each other.
  • You can undo your last move by selecting „Undo“ in Solitaire.
  • If you have won the game, online Solitaire will open a message with your achieved statistics.
